Staff and residents of the Fieldway and Tarbock Road sheltered accommodation schemes (managed by Huyton Co-operative for the Elderly) recently tucked into a delicious lunch to help raise more than £271 for aid of Willowbrook Hospice.
Organiser and Scheme Manager Christine Shennan said: “Several of our residents have been cared for at the hospice or have had relatives who have been looked after there so we all know how vital places like the Willowbrook are. The fundraiser attracted fantastic support from the residents, their friends and families as well as members of the local community with people donating raffle prizes or bringing along cakes and goodies for the lunch. Everyone had a great time and it was lovely to see people from all walks of the community coming together to raise money for such a great cause as Willowbrook.”
Nicky Saunders, Head of Fundraising at Willowbrook said: “We’re really grateful to the staff and residents of Fieldway and Tarbock Road housing schemes for their support and generosity. Every penny donated will go towards helping us to continue to care for our patients and their families across Knowsley and St Helens.”
