Special services
Time for remembering

Each year those who have lost a loved one are invited, by letter, to attend a special service to give thanks and remember their relative. The service is currently held in St Ann’s Church, Rainhill.
During the service each name is read out and readings and hymns are sung with an Act of Remembering as the key moment in the service. Everyone present is invited to light a candle in memory of their love one.
Members of the Hospice team attend the service and are available after the service, should you want to talk. Refreshments are available beforehand.
Celebration of lights service

The Hospice also holds an annual Celebration of Lights service in December in three different locations – Prescot Parish Church, Holy Spirit Church, Dovecot and St Mary’s RC Church in Lowe House, St Helens.
This is a celebration of the lives of loved ones who have died. You can, if you wish, purchase a ‘light’ and put the name of your loved one in the ‘Book of honour’ which is on display at each service and then afterwards in the Hospice Chapel.
