Why donate

Willowbrook Hospice covers a population of 350,000 people. The statistics show that in St Helens and Knowsley,.there is a one in four chance of dying with cancer. Regretably, over 400 new patients are referred to us each year, which, with the patients who are already known to us, means that we help to care for approximately 1000 patients every year.

Lottery panelIt costs over £2m to run Willowbrook Hospice and we only receive modest support from the local PCTs. To be able to offer our services free to patients, we try to raise as much money through our five charity shops, events throughout the year and our lottery. However, we also have to rely on the very generous donations of the local community, who may have been touched by the care a loved one has received at Willowbrook or in recognition of the important work that we do.

We provide excellent care to our patients but also look after the carers, relatives, families and friends of our patients. Please take a short while, by clicking on the link below, to read some of the recent thank you letters that we have received from day therapy patients and relatives for you to understand how your donations make a real difference to people's lives.
